DST, PES or JEF? Find the file your machine needs

The right file is the one your exact machine model can read. A familiar extension is only the first compatibility check.

Start with your machine manual

Check the supported file extensions and any version or transfer requirements in your machine manual. Machines from the same brand may support different formats.

Check size as well as format

A readable file can still be too large for your hoop. Check the design width and height, stitch count limits and available embroidery area before ordering.

Keep the color chart

Some formats do not preserve specific thread brand colors. Keep the supplied color sequence or thread chart with the design and check each color change before stitching.

Ask before converting

Changing a file extension does not convert a design. Ask for a compatible export and a check of the stitch sequence if your required format is not listed.
